Strategic Performance Test Planning

Our engagement began with the development of a comprehensive Performance Test Plan and Strategy. This blueprint became the foundation for all subsequent testing phases, aligning performance objectives with business goals and ensuring stakeholder visibility from the outset. We identified key use cases, defined test entry and exit criteria, and established KPIs to measure success across multiple platforms and interfaces.

Technical Proof-of-Concept: Neoload for iPad App Testing

Yorkshire Water was exploring options for validating the performance of their new iPad-based field service application. Enigma Solutions led a technical proof-of-concept (PoC) using Neoload, showcasing its suitability for mobile app performance testing. We simulated real-world network conditions, backend transactions, and concurrent user interactions to prove the tool's capability in a mobile-first environment.

Mobile App Performance Testing

With the PoC validated, we conducted end-to-end performance testing of the iPad application. This involved emulating complex user journeys under varied network conditions and usage patterns, ensuring a seamless experience for field technicians even in low-bandwidth areas. Our results helped Yorkshire Water optimize app responsiveness and backend services, reducing latency and improving user satisfaction.

SAP ERP Performance Testing

Yorkshire Water’s SAP ERP system is central to their enterprise operations. Enigma Solutions executed detailed performance testing to ensure this mission-critical platform could scale efficiently under peak load conditions. By simulating high-traffic scenarios, we identified and resolved bottlenecks within core modules including Finance, Procurement, and Asset Management.

Establishing Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs)

One of the standout achievements of this engagement was the introduction of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) β€” a first for Yorkshire Water. Working collaboratively with business analysts, architects, and developers, we defined measurable NFRs covering response times, throughput, resource utilization, and scalability. These benchmarks became pivotal in guiding future testing, procurement decisions, and architectural improvements.
